Tau vs. Tyranids Capture and Control - Turn 2

On the Tau right flank near the Devilfish, a team of six Stealth Suits jumped onto the battlefield, surrounded by a swarm of no less than twelve Gun Drones.  The amount of firepower on the Tau right flank had just increased dramatically.  Both the Devilfish and the Hammerhead moved forward, pressing the attack. 

The Stealth Suits and Drones unloaded all their weaponry on the Termagants in cover, who continued hugging the ground.  Four were killed by the Stealth Suits, and while the Drones wounded 5 more, they all made their cover saves.  The Shas’el and two Crisis Suits fired on the Hive Tyrant and its Tyrant Guard, wounding one of them with a pulse rifle shot.

On the Tau left flank, the Hammerhead fired another submunition, killing three more Hormagaunts.  Fire Warrior Team 3 shot and killed six termagants, while Team 1 killed one of the Rending Claws Warriors. 

The Tyranids continued to advance towards the Tau objective.  The Deathspitter Warriors missed with the Venom Cannon, while the Deathspitters killed five Fire Warriors in Team 3.  The Carnifexes fired, missing Team 3 and nicking Team 2, killing one more Fire Warrior and pinning the Team again.  The Hive Tyrant shot down a pair of Drones with its Venom Cannon.  The two Biovores aimed at the Stealth Suits and both scattered off target, landing harmlessly between the Stealth Suits and the Devilfish. 

A Lictor suddenly revealed itself in the trees right next to the Hammerhead, leaping out of cover.  The Hammerheads Flechette Discharger went off automatically and wounded the Lictor as it moved it.  The Lictor jumped and latched onto an engine nacelle, plunging its rending claws into the Gunship’s engine.  The Gunship shuddered violently, and the Lictor leapt off the skimmer just before it exploded. 

The Hormagaunts found themselves within charge range, and charged Fire Warrior Team 1 and the Crisis Suit Team.  The Hormagaunts ripped down a single Crisis Suit, while the Hormagaunts suffered one casualty in return, and the fight continued.  The Fire Warriors did better, throwing their photon grenades at the last second, and only suffering a single casualty.  Retaliating, the Fire Warriors killed four Hormagaunts, completely wiping out the brood.
