Tau vs. Tyranids Capture and Control - Turn 5
The lone
Crisis Suit fled off the table, but the rest of the Tau were about to make
their final bid to win the battle. The
Shas’el, Crisis Team, and Stealth Suits all moved forward.
The Shas’el dropped another airburst on the termagants on the
objective, killing all three. The
Stealth Suits and Fire Warrior Team 4 fired on the Hive Tyrant, killing the
last of the Tyrant Guard, and wounding the Hive Tyrant, which stood, unfazed.
In the
assault the termagant killed a single Fire Warrior, which was enough to make
them break, and they were chased down and killed by the chittering gaunts.
The Warriors and gaunts then moved to secure the Tau objective.
A
randomly moving spore mine collided with the Devilfish, but exploded to no
effect. The Hive Tyrant moved into
the woods to protect the objective, and fired at Fire Warrior Team 4, killing
one with the Venom Cannon.
The
Carnifexes and both biovores concentrated their fire on the Shas’el and
attendant Crisis Suits, killing both the suits but leaving the Shas’el
unharmed.
Behind
the Hive Tyrant, a brood of Termagants headed towards the Tyranid objective.
As they approached, the Tau Commander decided that the battle was lost,
and called a general retreat.
